How did you come into the industry trading bitumen?


It comes naturally as a refiner and marketer of petroleum products in South Africa. It only makes sense that our refinery is geared up to produce bitumen.



What do you believe to be the greatest challenge facing the trading of the commodity?


The greatest challenge is forecasting bitumen and the construction industry push for lower bitumen prices.



Where do you see the greatest opportunity in the industry right now, and how are you positioned to capture it as a business?


The opportunities lie with SADC government’s infrastructure development programmes and the financing thereof.



If you could change one thing in the industry going forward what would it be?


Strategic geographical mobile storage facilities.



What is your proudest achievement to date in the industry?


Our continued support and active participation in the bitumen industry, by initiating a bitumen study in South Africa in 2013.
