Federal Roads Maintenance Agency collaborates on #WARIIF2020

The Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) today announced a new collaboration with the Infrastructure Exchange, to work together on the development of the West Africa Road Infrastructure and Investment Forum. This collaboration will ensure that all relevant stakeholders in Nigeria and West Africa are involved in discussions on the future of road development and investment in the region.

“The opportunity to work with the Infrastructure Exchange and bring international expertise and funding, along with continental knowledge and best practise to Nigeria and West Africa was a fundamental deciding factor to the collaboration,” says the managing director of FERMA, Engr. Nuruddeen A. Rafindadi.

“Road maintenance is an increasingly challenging task globally. We believe that by collaborating with the experts to explore alternative methods of funding, project implementation and the utilisation of new technology, we will be able to deliver on our vision of becoming the most efficient road maintenance management organisation, and thereby enhancing the economic well-being and interest of Nigerians.”

“The opportunity to work with FERMA to develop and frame a content programme for the West African market is an opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its leadership in the road sector in West Africa,” says Gaurav Koul, managing director, Infrastructure Exchange.

“We have been blessed to work with some of the dedicated staff at FERMA over the past two years and believe that their expertise, professionalism and commitment to the sector will shine through in the final delivery.”

The partnership will benefit from bringing region-specific perspectives together with international development partners, technology suppliers and global experts.
