New Permanent Secretary announced for Nigerian transport ministry

President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointment of 12 new Permanent Secretaries amongst which is the appointment of Dr. Anthonia Ekpa as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transportation. The new permanent secretary is awaiting inauguration by President Buhari.


Dr Ekpa has previously been a speaker at numerous Infrastructure Exchange events and was due to participate in the keynote session at this year's in-person WARIIF conference.


A top public servant in Nigeria's Government, Dr Ekpa has extensive academic and professional experience in Governance, Development Management and Public Administration. She acquired academic qualifications and specialisation from four Universities in Language Management and Communications as well as Pubic Sector Reforms. A trained administrator and communications specialist, she has extensive experience derived from the World Bank's Governance and Communications Programmes and practical responsibilities in the Management of Reform Communication in Nigeria's Pubic Service.  An Alumna of the British Chevening Scholarship 2001 to 2002 and currently Goodwill Ambassador of the University of Calabar, Nigeria. She has been a lecturer of Language and Linguistics, in Nigerian Universities and teacher of English at some schools in Birmingham United Kingdom. Dr Ekpa is an excellent researcher with published academic papers and books in areas of professional and academic expertise including texts in English Language, Communication and Teaching.  She is also a literary writer with published works in poetry and children's literature.
